Overview

Meta launched an initiative to delve deep into productivity from various angles—examining how internal documentation, organization, and internal tools impact knowledge sharing and productivity across different representative roles and functions.

Our approach involved conducting virtual ethnographic research, allowing us to sample a week of work for each individual to gain valuable insights.

We transformed these insights into actionable and thought-provoking recommendations for the company to consider as they pursued opportunities to enhance workflow efficiencies.

Anticipating the challenges of virtual research

How could we effectively encourage participants to divulge intimate details about their work environment, habits, and processes—especially in a virtual setting?

We carefully crafted prompts and activities designed to elicit valuable insights in a manner that felt effortless and non-intrusive.
